REDCO IN THE PRESS: UNDERGROUND MINING, TRANSITION AND DISTRICT-WIDE VISION

During a month marked by mining in Chile, REDCO was a leading presence in specialized media such as Diario Financiero, Minería Chilena and Revista Nueva Minería y Energía. The articles covered everything from the firm’s internationalization to its solutions in underground mining and the design of mining districts.
Diario Financiero highlighted the path towards smarter, safer and more sustainable mining, underpinned by simulation, probabilistic analysis and decision-making methodologies under uncertainty. With more than 500 projects in 15 countries, the company has gone from being a local team to a network of more than 80 specialists with offices in Chile, Peru, Brazil and the United States, projecting its arrival in Canada and Australia. The outlet also highlighted that close to 60% of revenue already comes from abroad, reflecting its consolidation as an international player.
Meanwhile, Minería Chilena placed the emphasis on the consultancy’s experience in massive underground mining (block and panel caving) and in studies of the transition from open pit to underground operations. These projects, increasingly relevant at mature mine sites, require integrating geomechanics, ventilation, productivity and CAPEX rationalization. The publication also underlined the use of agile, multidisciplinary work cells, along with the policy of knowledge transfer to clients.
For its part, Nueva Minería y Energía highlighted the organization’s vision in the design of integrated mining districts, an approach that seeks to coordinate neighboring orebodies, optimize logistics corridors and encourage the shared use of infrastructure. According to the report, the application of advanced technologies in processing, metallurgy and material handling makes it possible to maximize resources and boost the growth of companies, while keeping teams lean and timelines tight.
