REDCO PERU TOOK PART IN CONEIMIN 2025 WITH A TECHNICAL TALK AND A VISIT TO ITS REMOTE GEOTECHNICAL MONITORING CENTER

REDCO’s subsidiary in Peru took an active part in the Congreso Nacional de Estudiantes de Ingeniería de Minas (CONEIMIN), held from August 11 to 16 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. The event brought together students, specialists and companies from the sector to discuss technological innovation and sustainability in mining.

On the second day, project engineer Arnold Tadeo delivered the technical talk “Trade-off of mining methods for a copper deposit”. The presentation showed a comparative analysis which, applying the UBC methodology and models such as Hill of Value and Value Envelope Surface, concluded that the most suitable method was Sublevel Caving (SLC), complemented by Sublevel Stoping (SLS), achieving a balance between technical feasibility and economic profitability.

Two days later, selected students from the congress visited the Remote Geotechnical Monitoring Center operated by REDTEC, one of the companies in the group that makes up REDCO. The activity was led by Edward Torres Callupe (Geomechanics Engineer), with the support of Alexander Flores (IT Engineer), who explained how real-time monitoring makes it possible to anticipate risks, optimize safety and ensure operational continuity at mine sites. REDCO Peru’s management highlighted the opportunity to share knowledge with students from various regions of the country, including Cusco, Tacna, Puno, Huancavelica and Lima, and reaffirmed its commitment to training the new generations of mining engineers.
