REDCO: strategic planning and trends in Peruvian mining in the run-up to PERUMIN 2025

The mining consultancy will have its own stand and will present research on methodologies and sublevel caving at the most relevant trade fair in the sector in Peru. Eduardo Lama, Country Manager of REDCO Peru, explains how the firm contributes to the mining ecosystem in a context of sustainability, digitalization and new regulations.

Peruvian mining faces a challenging scenario: greater social and regulatory pressure, the need to accelerate digitalization processes and the expansion of projects that require high technical standards. In that context, REDCO Mining Consultants seeks to differentiate itself with a boutique consulting proposal focused on strategic planning and solutions tailored to each operation.

“REDCO’s main contribution to the Peruvian mining ecosystem is to offer specialized planning consultancy that combines strategic vision and technical experience”, says Eduardo Lama, Country Manager of REDCO Peru, a company that will be part of this edition through its stand No. 466 in Pavilion 4. He adds: “We design flexible solutions, with technological innovation and optimization methodologies that allow companies to improve productivity, safety and sustainability”.

The company has taken part in projects of international scope, such as those developed together with Sierra Metals in Peru and Mexico, in addition to driving the evaluation of innovative methods such as Sublevel Caving, which open up new possibilities for more competitive operations.

Trends shaping Peruvian mining

According to Lama, the sector in the country revolves around three decisive trends: (1) Sustainability, with communities, markets and regulators demanding greater control of environmental impacts and commitment to clean energy; (2) Digitalization, which integrates advanced simulations, data analytics and remote monitoring into operations management; and (3) Project expansion, which demands feasibility studies with greater technical rigor within a stricter regulatory framework.

“In the face of these dynamics, our proposal is to support companies with modern methodologies, systems simulations and a vision that strengthens the competitiveness of Peruvian mining”, he adds.

Expectations at PERUMIN 37

The country’s most important mining trade fair will be, in the words of the Country Manager, a strategic space to generate contacts and debate the sector’s current challenges. “PERUMIN is the platform where executives, authorities, suppliers and consultancies come together. It allows us to position our proposal and, above all, to hear the market’s needs first-hand”.

In this regard, he adds that, on this occasion, REDCO will be a stage for knowledge through two technical presentations, both to be held in the Herbert del Carpio Hall:

• Combination of Hill of Value methodologies and Lane’s algorithm for the definition of production capacities and mine plan at a strategic level; presented by Matías Fuentes Bustamante, Technical Services Manager of REDCO Chile (Wednesday the 24th at 13:10).
• Application of Sublevel Caving in mining projects: feasibility and comparison with traditional methods; presented by Jorman Barrera, Principal Engineer of REDCO Peru (Thursday the 25th at 8:20).

With this, the firm seeks to contribute knowledge about how digitalization, simulation and the adoption of new methods can transform mining in the region.
