MINE-TO-PORT SIMULATION MODEL FOR PRODUCTION DIAGNOSIS – CHILE

REDCO developed an integrated mine-to-port simulation model to diagnose the actual capacity of a multi-valley production system in northern Chile. The purpose of the study was to identify systemic bottlenecks, quantify variability over time and assess the probability of meeting the production plans projected through 2030.

The analysis made it possible to measure the performance of the base case, with an 82% probability of compliance, and to assess the impact of low-investment operational improvements, which raised projected compliance to 85%. Larger-scale initiatives were also analyzed, such as fleet renewal, structural improvements in processing plants and extension of the life of operations, which increased the projection to 93%. These results delivered a clear roadmap to prioritize investments and optimize the mine–plant–port value chain.
