ASSESSMENT OF DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES AND OPERATIONAL CONTINUITY – CHILE

REDCO took part in a mining engineering services agreement aimed at sustaining production at one of the largest copper operations in the world. The work included the preparation and validation of life of mine (LOM) plans, assessing various development initiatives to extend the mine life and ensure long-term production stability.
The study involved the application of simulation tools to project the impact of critical events —such as geotechnical risks, plant shutdowns or infrastructure failures— on planned production. Preliminary scenarios for the transition to underground mining were also analyzed, assessing the effect on the cut-off grade and on the future extraction strategy.
Services:
- Assessment of development initiatives to sustain production over the LOM.
- Validation of mine plans through advanced simulation.
- Analysis of production impacts in the face of geotechnical and operational risks.
