GEOTECHNICAL RISK ASSESSMENT AND MITIGATION MEASURES – CHILE

REDCO developed a mine planning study aimed at assessing extraction compliance in a critical phase of a large-scale open pit. The work involved identifying the impact of different geotechnical events on production, projecting their effect on key performance indicators (KPIs) and assessing mitigation alternatives to ensure operational continuity.

The analysis included the application of transactional simulation models to obtain greater detail on the shovel-truck relationship and its effect on the mining sequence. The results made it possible to estimate the probability of meeting production targets and to validate mitigation strategies through alternative ramps, delivering a comprehensive view of the risks and of the actions required to maintain the stability and reliability of the operation.
