From February 22 to 25, the SME MINEXCHANGE 2026 conference was held in Salt Lake City, USA, organized by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME), one of the most relevant technical events for the global mining sector.

The event took place at the Salt Palace Convention Center and brought together professionals, researchers and consultants from various countries to share methodological advances and discuss the sector’s technical challenges. In this context, REDCO Mining Consultants maintained an active participation in the technical program and in the event’s exhibition space, reaffirming its presence in the international market.

During the convention, the REDCO team was present at booth #2740, where it held conversations with professionals and potential clients interested in exploration campaign design, resource audits, technical studies, independent reviews under standards, and approaches applied to surface mining, underground mining and caving. This presence facilitated direct dialogue on integrated methodologies and the application of engineering judgment in complex decision-making.

Additionally, REDCO contributed to the technical program with presentations focused on critical aspects of mining engineering, highlighting multicriteria approaches for the transition from open pit to underground and methodologies for selecting extraction levels in block and panel caving operations, integrating economic, technical and risk variables into strategic planning

The REDCO delegation was made up of Enrique Rubio, CEO, Patricio Vergara, Country Manager USA; Pedro Aguiluz, Development and Business Director; Juan Francisco San Martín, Technical Services Manager; and Sarah Bull, Senior Project Director, Participating in this type of event makes it possible to strengthen technical exchange with professionals from different jurisdictions and to maintain an active presence in spaces where industry trends, methodological innovation and structural challenges are discussed. In an increasingly demanding global environment, this type of participation helps consolidate REDCO’s international positioning and its ongoing connection with the specialized mining community.
