INNOVATION WITH A CHILEAN STAMP: REDCO MINING CONSULTANTS RECOGNIZED BY CORFO AT ETMDAY 2025

On the third day of EtMday 2025, one of the most relevant entrepreneurship and innovation gatherings in Latin America, CORFO granted the recognition Innovación de Impacto Red Internacional Eureka to REDCO Mining Consultants, a mine engineering firm operating in various markets and focused on projects of high technical complexity.

The distinction was presented on Saturday 22 November on the “Impacto” stage, at Parque Bicentenario de Vitacura, as part of the second edition of the Premios Innovación de Impacto, which seek to give visibility to R&D&i initiatives with the capacity to scale and connect with global networks. During this edition, projects in four broad areas were highlighted: companies led by women, use of the R&D tax incentive, international collaboration through Eureka and innovations of high technological sophistication.

Before the award was presented, Pedro Aguiluz, Business Development Director of the boutique mine engineering consultancy, took part on the same stage presenting the company’s experience in collaborative innovation processes linked to the Eureka Network. In his talk, he addressed how the coordination between companies, the State and international networks allows solutions developed from Chile to be tested against other productive realities and to operate under shared standards.

“Taking part in a project hosted by the Eureka Network means submitting to a different level of demand. It is not enough to have a good solution: you have to demonstrate that it can engage with other technologies, with other regulatory frameworks and with teams working from very different cultures. That experience forced us to refine our work and to confirm that mining can be a real space for international innovation, not just for exporting raw materials”, noted Aguiluz after the ceremony.

The award places the mining sector within a broader map of innovation, where developments in biotechnology, medical technologies, industrial solutions and new materials coexist. At the same time, it reinforces CORFO’s role as a connector between the Chilean business fabric and platforms such as Eureka, one of the most extensive R&D cooperation networks worldwide.

EtMday 2025 brought together more than 20,000 attendees, international delegations, representatives of local and central governments, investment funds and startups from various regions of the country. Over three days, the gathering combined business rounds, thematic spaces and sector-specific content, consolidating itself as a barometer of the current state of the Chilean innovation ecosystem.
