REDCO COLLABORATES WITH VALE IN TECHNICAL WORKSHOP TO ADDRESS GEOTECHNICAL CHALLENGES AT STRATEGIC DEPOSIT IN THE SOUTHEAST CORRIDOR

Over the past month, REDCO took part in a technical workshop organized by Vale, focused on the analysis and development of integrated solutions for a strategic deposit located in the Southeast Corridor, an area of high geotechnical complexity.

The meeting fostered a space for high-level technical discussion among multidisciplinary teams, with the participation of professionals from REDCO Chile and Brazil, who contributed experience in underground mining and in the management of challenging geological contexts. The goal was to move towards a robust, executable work plan aligned with key principles for the industry: safety, sustainability and economic viability.

During the day, representatives of VALE took part, among them Juliana Cotta (Director of Mine Closure and PAEBM), Henrique Canuto (Senior Engineer), and Luis Gustavo Silva (Communication and Corporate Relations). In addition, as part of the agenda, a visit to the mine was carried out that made it possible to reinforce the analyses in the field, validate technical criteria and adjust proposals with a comprehensive, applied perspective.

The activity was valued by the various stakeholders involved. Alan Costa, planning engineer at Progen S.A. and currently strategic PMO for circular mining projects at VALE, highlighted the quality of the technical exchange and the level of the discussions held during the meeting. “It was a privilege to take part in this agenda, with strategic discussions and a focus on challenging geotechnical solutions. Congratulations to everyone involved”, he concluded.
