DRAWPOINT LAYOUT OPTIMIZATION IN UNDERGROUND OPERATION – CHILE

REDCO took part in the reassessment of one of the largest underground caving projects in the world, developing conceptual engineering and constructability analysis focused on gravity flow efficiency, reserve recovery and dilution control. The study included the review and adjustment of drawpoint layouts, proposing spacing modifications to improve rock mass stability and optimize mining recovery over the long term.

In addition, discrete event simulations were carried out to validate the behavior of the material handling system, together with a detailed constructability analysis in different areas of the orebody. The work covered ore pass sizing, civil works preparation and extraction sequencing, ensuring ramp-up reliability and alignment with the projected production strategy.
