Discrete and Stochastic Mining Plan Simulator

SIMPLAN

Simulation software developed by REDCO that allows evaluating strategic plans, generating alternative plans and/or evaluating future value. Its operation is based on the possibility of deflecting a reference plan based on the capabilities of the different unit operations of the value chain and the priority of compliance with a certain production goal.

The details of the results are the operational extraction and production plan (deterministic and stochastic) at the level of mine extraction, mine movement, concentrate, production, among others, and its subsequent detailed economic valuation period by period.

SIMPLAN’s value generation is associated with its ability to:

  • Validate the coherence of an extraction and production plan, evaluating the interaction of the volumetric plan with the operational parameters and performance of mining equipment, processes, among others.
  • Project the future condition of an extraction and production plan.
  • Estimate compliance and the probability of compliance with an extraction and production plan.
  • Identify bottlenecks of an extraction and production plan.
  • Evaluate sensitivities to a reference extraction and production plan.
  • Economically evaluate an extraction and production plan.

Mining Development and Preparation Task Simulator

SIMPREP

Simulation software developed by REDCO which generates a turn-by-turn operational plan for mining development and preparation tasks, prioritizing the fulfillment of a certain productive goal.

The detail of the results is the sequence of activities hour by hour, with each of the resources used.

The generation of value is mainly due to:

  • Savings in planning times (Engineering HH).
  • Reduces or eliminates errors generated when using multiple Excel spreadsheets.
  • It allows the generation of alternative plans against the occurrence of unforeseen operational events such as the stoppage of equipment and infrastructure, which allow mitigating the impact (Catch-up). With reaction times ranging from 5 to 30 minutes.
  • Evaluate changes in the philosophy or standard of operation in such a way as to estimate their impact.

SIMULATOR FOR THE ESTIMATION OF HANGINGS AND OVERSIZES AT EXTRACTION POINTS

REDFOOT

The pit-underground transition evaluation tool allows the evaluation of the transition based on technical-economic parameters, parameterizing both the pit and the underground mine in strata, for which a floor selection subroutine is available, which allows find the optimal floor of the underground mine, along with its tonnage, grade, value and a preliminary production program, based on the block model of the case study, with which the stratification of the underground option is subsequently carried out.

Within the tool, up to 20 parameters can be modified to adjust the simulation based on the reality of each operation.

Among these parameters are: The granulometric curves, the design of the pan, the number of rocks per pulse, the tonnage of the column, the form factor, the average length of the shafts, among others.

In addition to the above, REDFOOT allows multiple replications to be carried out with the objective of obtaining a distribution of hangings and sizes and thus being able to carry out risk analysis on these variables.

Simulator for the Estimation of Hangings and Oversizes at Extraction Points

REDFRAG

Tool developed by REDCO and validated with the support of CODELCO that allows estimating the frequency of hangings and oversizes at the extraction points.

Within the tool, up to 20 parameters can be modified to adjust the simulation based on the reality of each operation.

Among these parameters are: The granulometric curves, the design of the pan, the number of rocks per pulse, the tonnage of the column, the form factor, the average length of the shafts, among others.

In addition to the above, REDFRAG allows multiple replications to be carried out with the objective of obtaining a distribution of hangings and sizes and thus being able to carry out risk analysis on these variables.
